"The Gathering" was written for Galashiels Town Band in the Scottish Borders.
The title represents the Braw Lad's Gathering which is the town's main annual event, held in June. This march has become an important part of that event.
It features two folksongs from the Borders - "Soft Lowland Tongue" and "Braw Lasses", with the bass solo being of my composition.
A great addition to the brass band repertoire.
